Boring…

Ah boy says my blog has not been updated for a long time. Then I realised, he updated his blog much faster than me recently….

Rinko’s adventure….

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Rinko is found!!! He ran from our house at blk 203D to 206B’s rubbish chute (which he has to cross the road, till now i haven’t figure out how he managed to do so) then to the common area where someone is having funeral. When he saw a school bus alighting a student off, he jumped onto the school bus.

The school bus driver saw our notice and called me back.

Hong Kong Trip Day 1

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

On 22nd of April, Jackie and I set off to the city of Hong Kong, leaving Kookie and Rinko behind in Singapore.

We arrived in Hong Kong airport @ 10.35am and set off to Nathan Hotel on Airport Express. Jackie was fascinated with the Hong Kong transport system.

The 1st reaction I had when I went into the hotel room was: Oh no!! No bathtub!! How am I going to soak my sore legs after shopping???

Lunch was roasted meat rice as what I’d promised Jackie on the plane and silly him actually asked if we can have that for every meal.

After lunch, we went shopping around Mongkok area. We bought a doggy bed for our dogs and 3 harness for Wonka, Rinko and Kookie at Women’s Street. We also went into several pet shops in Fa Yuen Street and also learnt that Pomeranian is known as 松鼠狗 in Cantonese. Jackie bought himself 2 pairs of shoes from Fa Yuen Street and 2 boxes of Gundam Models from Kwong Wa Street. We also had dessert in my favourite shop, 许留山.

In the evening, we went to to Avenue of Stars and also watched Light of Symphony show.

Before we ended the day, we went to Temple Street for a short walk.

My Wedding Day – Evening Episode

Monday, May 5th, 2008

The evening episode on smoothly, thanks to everyone who has helped in the event. Samson, Eric and Haojie for helping Jackie with the alcohol and the video. Dawn, Jessie and Kaiting for helping out @ the reception. Chae Siong for helping us to take care of the food serving timing; QJ and Ah boy for helping me set up the reception table, especially ah boy for the photo montage (I love the logo!!!)

During the 1st march-in, the dry-ice effect was a little too much and totally covered me just before we reached the stage. We chose Andy Lau’s 《结婚进行曲》as the song for the 1st march-in.
Before the dry ice covered me totally

We did not get to try the cold dish during our food tasting but I thought it made itself a grand entrance.

The song used in our 2nd march-in was 吴克群’s 《情人节》. We had actually planned to sing 王力宏 and Selina’s 《你是我心内的一首歌》with Gavin playing on keyboard but he fell sick at the last minute so we had to change it to karaoke version.

These 2 cups of disgusting drinks is ’specially prepared’ by my red cross friends of more than 15 years. It is made up of red wine, toothpicks, the sauce from the spicy chicken and some other ingredients that I was unable to make out.

These are what we have chosen as our wedding favour and the little champagne bottle is actually bubble bottles.

After the whole event, we went back to Swissotel Merchant Court for the night’s rest. I simply love the view from the room.

My Wedding Day – Morning Episode

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

I guess everyone involved did not get to sleep at all…. After sending Rinko to the boarder @ Buddy Buddy and Kookie to Dawn’s place, another long night was in place for us. Everyone of us woke up @ wee hour in preparation for my wedding.

My makeup artist, Sandy was at my place by 5.50am:

The 姐妹 arrived at 6.15am and started preparing “ice-cream” for the 兄弟. The “ice-cream” is made up of wasabi, soy bean paste, Yōkan, red bean paste, super lemon as well as Chilli Padi and the most bitter part of cucumber (both with courtesy from my mum).

Jackie and his gang was made to eat the “ice-cream” as well as drink vinegar before they were allowed into the house (not forgetting the ang pows for getting into the house of course).

Jackie was then made to carry Whitie and sing a song at the door of my room and Whitie kept licking him.

After consuming some red dates with hard-boiled eggs soup, we set off for Jackie’s Jurong house where we paid our respects to his ancestors and the gods worshiped in his place.

As Jackie had 17 relatives who came over from KL, the tea ceremony was held in our new house instead.

Our last itinerary was back to Hougang where tea is offered to my parents and relatives.

Now, how could I miss posting pictures of the 姐妹 and  兄弟? If there wasn’t their help, everything would not been so fun….

My Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

I got the softcopies of my PreWedding Photoshoot Pictures from my Bridal Studio on Monday. I’m glad the photos turned out to be nice. I particularly like the outdoor shoots!!! My PreWedding photos can be viewed at My Flickr. There’s a total of 282 photos.
Here are some of the pictures.

Wedding Preparations…

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

It has been a long long while since I last blogged. I was super caught up with moving to my place and my wedding preparations.

My photo shoot ended on Wednesday and we’ve brought our 2 little darlings along for the shoot. It is surely a great challenge to ask doggies to pose correctly for shoots!! Everyone in the bridal studio thought Rinko looks cute in his little tuxedo bought from Make A Bear Workshop. Little Rinko was overwhelmed with the attention given to him. The photographer played with him while we were changing and even asked if Rinko could be borrowed for a day! :P

We sent Rinko early for his 3rd vaccination so that he could be brought along for the outdoor shoot. During the shoot, Rinko chased after my outdoor gown and even peed on it.

I had to thank Dawn and Jessie for taking one day’s leave to accompany and babysit my dogs during our photoshoot. Thanks girls!!!

Neutering Kookie

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

After discussion, we’ve decided to neuter Kookie for health benefits. It is said that neutered dogs has less risk of testicular cancer and lives a longer life. One benefit that I’ve observed is Kookie no longer marks around the house.

I also had Kookie micro-chipped. However, the nurse made a mistake while typing his name so his sterilization certificate and microchip certificate spelt his name as Kooki. Guess I will have to register him under this spelling.

Kooki (as he is called now) is not supposed to bathe for the next 10 days and is to be prevented from licking his wound for the next 14 days. The vet gave him an e-collar but he refuses to move a single inch with the e-collar on, so I bought him baby shorts and cut a hole for his tail so that he can feel more comfortable when we’re around.

This is Kooki with the shorts on:

Kookie and his present

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

We took Kookie to SKC dog show on 4th November. Poor Kookie was given too much tibits the night before and ended up vomiting thrice in the car. He soon forgot his discomfort upon arriving at the dog show when he saw the many dogs around him. We’ve also bought him a pet stroller as his xmas present.

Kookie…

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

I brought Kookie back to hougang on Tuesday as Jackie had guard duty on that day. As Whitey (as what my sis’s Japanese spitz was known as) doesn’t seem to like Kookie, he was made to stay in my room for the night. I intended to let him sleep on the floor as what he has always done at home.

I discovered Kookie sleeping beside me in the morning. Either I was too tired or he had purposely took great care not to disturb me as I actually did not notice him jumping up onto my bed in the middle of the night.

I tried to wake him up but in vain. I guess he was really too tired. I’ll be sending Kookie for neutering on 10th November as well as micro-chipping.

Meeni and Mickee has settled down in their new home. All the best to them.

Brand’s sudoku challenge

Friday, June 8th, 2007

I’ve qualified into the semi-finals of Brand’s Sudoku challenge. The story begins as I was preparing for my examinations last semester, when I bought a box of Brand’s Chicken Essence. It was supposed to enable me to study, but I ended playing sudoku the whole night instead (I was lucky to pass both subjects with an A and a C).

The semi-finals will be held at SMU administration building this Saturday. The 1st prize is $10000 cash, a trophy and a Brand’s hamper. If I am disqualified the very 1st round, I’ll still get $50 worth of goodie bag….haha…

Urinary Tract Infection…

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

This is the last thing I would ever thought to happen to me. Honestly, I was almost scared stiff when I saw blood in urine since last evening. The condition lasted till this evening until I decided that I should see a doctor.

I had wanted to see a doctor last night but decided to go for class instead.

I was given a urine test and was advised by the doctor to drink more water and to go back for a review 10 days later.

I think my body is really getting weaker and weaker. I was actually given 3 doses of antibotics for this whole month, twice for my throat infection earlier this month and now for this. Let’s hope that my immune system will build up and will not be sick again for the rest of the year.

Fever again :(

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Haha…I think I’m getting weaker and weaker. I had 3 fevers within a month. The 1st fever was on 21st April after my goat farm visit (I promise I’ll post the pictures up this weekend). I was supposed to play wii with Ah boy , QJ and Gavin when I started feeling feverish. With QJ late as usual, I took 2 panadols and a short nap while Gavin and Ah boy tested out Wii Bleach for me :P

2nd fever was the one I just mentioned, on Labour Day’s eve. 3rd fever, Today. The clinic opens at 9.00am, I reached there at 9.15am. Guess what time the doctor came? He came at 9.50am!!! If there was an emergency case, the patient would have been dead by then.

Nevertheless, thanks to his medicine, I’ve almost recovered by now :)

Fever…

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

I have not been blogging for the past 2 months. Now that I’m down with a fever on Labour Day’s eve, I’ve decided to blog. I skipped school yesterday as I know that I won’t be able to concentrate.

Vanessa drove me to the clinic. I’ve got a fever of 38.9°C. This is the worst fever I had so far. Bodyache, headache almost drove me to take sick leave from work. However, as we had only 3 support staff yesterday, I forced myself to survive though. Moreover, I’m still under probation. Any sick leave taken will still be considered no pay leave.

I’m going klunch with Jessie, Jackie, Shunli and his girlfriend today. I’m wondering how am I able to sing when my plegm contains blood? Wish me good luck…

Discrete Mathematics Retest….

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

We got back our Discrete Mathematics results yesterday and there’s only one pass in the whole class ( me with 14/15 again).

It’s disappointing to know that my classmates have failed again. Some of them even made the effort to meet me for revision sessions. I know they have tried their best and I’ve tried my best to help too.

Mathematics has always been my best subject in school and the fact that I have taken Additional Mathematics during ‘O’ Levels and Mathematics C during ‘A’ Levels added to my advantage for this subject.

Mathematics is a logical thinking subject which needs practice. I hope all of us can do better for the next test and get through this module together.

Busy busy busy…

Monday, February 12th, 2007

I have been very very busy lately. Busy with my visual basic projects , teaching my classmates Discrete Mathematics and packing my room (Yes! I need days to pack my room. There’s simply too many things bought by me. Will take a picture of it soon when it’s finally neat)

It’s sad to know that out of 26 of us, only 3 managed to pass our Discrete Mathematics test. (I got 14/15, Gavin [not Gavin Khoo] got 12.5/15 and Mohd got 7.5/15). I really really hope that those who made the effort to request for revision with me are able to score well for the re-test.

To all, Happy St Valentine’s Day and Happy Chinese New Year in advance!!!

P.S. I’m still waiting for Tirta to pass me the IT Department lunch photos to load here. Hope it won’t be after I leave this company…..

Exam results

Friday, January 12th, 2007

After weeks of waiting, I finally got my examination results for my 1st semester. As what I’ve expected, I got a ‘B’ and a ‘C’. I haven’t been really studying last semester as I was too occupied with tutoring. It’s time to work hard from now on.

Christmas

Friday, December 29th, 2006

This post is 4 days late but I have been too busy to blog and Taiwan earthquake has caused a disruption to the Internet service in Singapore.

Christmas countdown was done at Eric’s place with Jackie and his friends. This is the very first time I celebrated Christmas outside home. Jackie dressed up as Santa and this excited some kids at the void deck of Eric’s block. However, they soon ‘accused’ him as a fake Santa.

We played Superman edition Monopoly and Big 2 which I caused Jackie to drink a glass of green tea mixed Vodka.

Christmas itself was spent at CSL’s house playing mahjong and the sole loser is our Mr Jackie Tan with me winning most of his money.

As promised, I shall post the photo of the “bear tree” in habourfront as well as some photos taken in Jewel Box on Mount Faber.

Choon Meng’s Birthday Celebration

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Wednesday was Choon Meng’s birthday. As he has taken leave on that special day, we celebrated his birthday one day later instead. It seems like birthday lunch has become a norm in this department, and this time round, lunch is at Oscar’s at Conrad Centennial Singapore.

I was a little surprised by this black kitten wondering outside the restaurant. There are stray cats in Singapore, but they are mostly found at housing estates. This is the first time I spot a cat in town.

The food is generally nice; well, it has to as this is an award winning restaurant we are talking about. I simply love the desserts! However, there were some hiccups like the captain not being able to find our reservation under Donald’s name.

I was very much attracted to the Conrad Bears-decorated Christmas tree and this reminded me of another “bear tree” in Habourfront. I shall post the picture of that tree here later.
